Climate Action Initiative

Condos boards have the ability to initiate changes that can help reduce GreenHouse Gas levels by making energy-saving choices when new equipment or infrastructure is needed. LED conversions are one of the easiest projects to implement and can reduce Hydro needs by double-digit percentages.

There is significant experience among YCCA members and explanations or advice is readily available. If you are interested, please refer to the “How Smart is Your Building?” seminar we presented over Zoom a few years ago:

The YCCA hosted a two-day seminar on November 14th and 15th, presented by the Tamarack Association where the cost of participation was covered by our City Councilor’s office as part of the Climate Action initiative fostered by Lily Cheng.

A wealth of information and resources were provided such as:
    Ways to deal with Eco-Anxiety
How to design with climate resilience in mind
How to save money as well as reduce GHG emissions
Ways that condos can function as a fourth (or first) level of government to take or encourage climate actions at the ground level

We will make some of the files and slides available on this site soon.
